What Is The ECTA?

The ECTA, or the Electronic Cigarette Trade Association of Canada is an industry wide organization. Which assures that all electronic cigarette products follow the correct legal and regulatory safety framework in place. Formed in 2011 by 10 founding fathers and electronic cigarette vendors after several months of discussions with competing vendors, legal advisors and consultants. The Electronic Cigarette Trade Association of Canada works alongside an international team, the ECITA. To harbour and maintain the safety rules and framework for electronic cigarettes already set in place already by existing Canadian Laws. Working with vendors and manufacturers. The association ensures that the vendors and consumers interest and safety is of utmost importance.

Setting Label Standards

e-Liquid will be regulated under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA). And as well the Consumer Chemicals and Container Regulations 2001 (CCCR).

Note the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act (CPLA.) And also the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Regulations (CPLR) apply to all consumer products in Canada.

The ECTA stamp is given to participating businesses to display that they are legally compliant. Their products are safe. And the business follows a standard of excellence that customers can trust.
